National RFID Roadmap Planning Workshop

The Malaysian Communications & Multimedia Commission (MCMC) together with SIRIM Berhad will be jointly organizing the National RFID Roadmap Planning Workshop. Scheduled from the 2nd – 3rd December 2009 at the SIRIM Berhad, Shah Alam, Malaysia, the 2-days workshop aims to gather information and further insight from the participants in order to finalise a National RFID Roadmap to maximize the Economic Impact and Benefits of RFID for the country.The event is structured partly in an interactive dialogue manner whereby participants input and feedback are required in order to determine and test the principles of the proposed National RFID Roadmap, its emphasis, goals, priorities and the alignment with the Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) Roadmap and the value added contributions in terms of the ITU’s ICT Development Index vis-à-vis the need to increase national broadband penetration targets under National Broadband Plan. Ultimately, the findings from this workshop, together with the current National RFID Infrastructure Readiness Survey being conducted by MCMC, will be analysed and included as part of MCMC’s National RFID Roadmap report to be forwarded to government planners for the 10th Malaysia’s Plan. This event is expected to bring in 30 local and international speakers as well as attract more than 200 local and international participants. The participants for this Workshop are expected to comprise of both foreign as well as local RFID industry experts, various stakeholders involved in RFID from any one of the multitude of sectors ranging from Postal & Courier, Transport and Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Retail, Agriculture, Health, Halal Food, Telecommunications and Asset tracking, etc. Last but not least, it is aimed also for participants from the government sector in order to update and seek their views on specific domain aspects peculiar to their own departments.We look forward to welcoming you at the workshop and thank you for your support in anticipation.

Teknik Baru Perompak Mesin ATM

Perompak mesin ATM sekarang mempunyai teknik baru untuk menjalankan aktiviti merompak. Berhati-hatilah ketika memasuki kiosk ATM terutama nya diwaktu awal pagi dan malam. Beberapa kes rompakan telah dilapurkan melibatkan teknik terbaru ini. Di Johor seorang pelanggan ATM telah dirompak oleh sekumpulan lelaki sejurus selepas beliau memasukan kad ATM nya kedalam mesin ATM. Salah seorang perompak berpura-pura menjatuhkan sesuatu berhampiran dengan mangsa. Apabila mangsa tunduk untuk menolong beliau dipukul oleh ahli-ahli kumpulan yang lain semasa kad ATM nya masih berada didalam mesin ATM. The rest was history.

Kesimpulan nya ketika hendak berurusan di ATM:

• Berurusan lah di siang hari
• Kalau boleh..bawa kawan
• Jika dah tak bernasib baik..berikan saja wang kepada perompak..jangan cuba nak melawan
• Jangan tergopoh-gapah pergi ke mesin ATM di lokasi yang anda tidak biasa. Tinjau persekitaran dan pastikan anda berada di kawasan yang selamat.
• Sebaik-baiknya, gunakan ATM yang terletak di kawasan yang diterangi cahaya dan berada di kawasan yang sibuk, seperti berhampiran jalan utama di mana terdapat ramai pejalan kaki dan kenderaan adalah banyak.
• Sekiranya anda mengesyaki seseorang yang berhampiran, elakkan daripada terus menggunakan mesin ATM tersebut.
• Lindungi skrin ATM semasa memasukkan nombor PIN dengan badan. Perompak mungkin boleh membaca pergerakan tangan atau jari anda.
• Jika anda rasa diri anda diekori selepas mengeluarkan wang, cuba camkan orang atau kenderaan tersebut dan teruskan perjalanan anda ke tempat yang terang atau dikunjungi orang ramai, atau pergilah ke balai polis berhampiran.
